I'm in the middle of buying a used Infiniti and I'm trying not to make a very expensive mistake, so I'm hoping someone here can point me towards a proper inspection service before I hand over any money. The car is a 2018 Q50 with about 90,000 kilometres on it and it looks clean in the photos, the seller seems genuine, and the price is reasonable compared to others I've seen, but I've been burned before by a car that looked fine until a month later when everything started falling apart. I'm determined not to let that happen again, so I want to get a proper expert pre-purchase inspection for Infiniti in Khalifa City done by someone who actually knows these cars rather than a mate with a torch and an optimistic attitude. The thing is I don't know what a good inspection should actually cover, or how much it should cost, or how long it takes, and I don't want to pay for something that turns out to be a five minute glance underneath and a thumbs up. I'd like to know whether these inspections typically include a diagnostic scan for stored fault codes, a check of the turbo and the transmission, and whether they look at things like accident damage or previous repairs that might not show up on a basic history check. Has anyone here actually paid for one of these before buying an Infiniti, and did it actually catch something that saved you from a bad purchase? I'd also like to know whether the seller is usually cooperative about this sort of thing or whether it makes them suspicious. Any real experiences would be really helpful because I'd rather spend a bit now than regret it later.
